There is not much happening on the island of Svínoy.
On an average day, that is.
Except last Saturday was no average day on the remote island located in the northeast corner of the Faroe Islands.
According to Faroese news website VP.fo, a car accident took place on Saturday on Svínoy.
A car was parked in the parking space in front of a home, when it suddenly slid and went out into the field.
Luckily, no one was in the car at the time.
Ritan, the ferry that connects Svínoy to the mainland, and the helicopter departed the island around the same time as this incident took place, and quite naturally there was a lot of traffic to the harbor and helipad, respectively.
Rather fortunately, no one was hit or injured by the car.
It did not take before the local excavator had dragged the car back on the road again.
